Mustard-Based Central South Carolina Sauce

Use with pork chops

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 onion
  • minced
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
  • Step 1 Combine ingredients and set aside.
  • Step 2 Grill meat (do not add anything). During the last 4-10 minutes baste with this sauce.
  • Step 3 Boil the remaining sauce and spoon 2 Tablespoons onto each plate, adding the meat portion.
